Since clinicals have been cancelled, a lot of our assignments for my geriatrics class have been changed. One of our projects this past week was writing about COVID-19 and its impact on older adults. We had to research why COVID is so much more dangerous than the flu, why the elderly are at greater risk for contracting corona, and why the World Health Organization has declared the virus a pandemic. It was a really interesting assignment, and I thought I would share my powerpoint slides with you all :)
